Morning all,

 

Anyone got any advice on longest bar a ms441c can handle easily?

Hi Chris get a 461 loads more power I run my 441 20" it was ok but not as good as the the 461 thanks Jon

We've tried lots of different sizes on ours and come to the conclusion that it is just a crap saw. When you compare it to a 560xp it becomes apparent how lacking it is.

It'll pull 25 if you're patient and it's razor sharp.

 

It's happier on a 20" though. I wouldn't use it on a longer bar unless you really needed to.

 

To, you reckon a 560 would out cut it on a 20"?

Hi Joe,

My 560 flies on an 18" even at the end of the day on stumps when the chain isn't so keen. I haven't tried a 20" but I recon it would cope reasonably well.

I just think that a saw that weighs what a 441 does should handle a bigger bar and should be quicker.

It's the same kind of thing when you compare the 346xp with the ms261:

More cc, heavier saw but no real power increase. We've had our 346's for years and our 261's are quite new in comparison yet the 261's give us much more hassle and feel worn out already. The 346's are still going strong.
