That wasn't quite what I meant, but did make me chuckle!

 

Those were the exploitative circumstances that are (hopefully) behind us and I'd say the union movement and latterly H&S are much to be appreciated for that.

 

Is there a future for the union movement now that legislation dictates working standards, practices and pay, well that's a subject for another thread.

 

Has H&S become a millstone, well I guess that's dependant on wether you're a victim of poor practice or an operator feeling constrained by it.

 

Good show though - George Gently, enjoyed it, good TV drama for a change.
