Does any one else try and promote customers to take delivery of logs ,during the summer months,so that they have logs at the moisture content of kiln dried logs by winter, but at naturally seasoned log prices.

I appreciate there will be a conflict of interests, but every man for himself in business.

Yes I have always done this that way I have work all year round and the pick up is on the road all the time advertiseing my buissenes.Alot of my summer customers are starting to stock up now just as the winter ones are tailing off.

I always say to customers get them through the summer then you know they are dry for the winter.Just put in a biomass log kiln for the winterones but this will cost them a premium, also some are adamant they have got to have kiln dried regardless what moisture content they are, have seen some advertised as kiln drid to below 30%!!

Cheers Chris.

Don't you sell dry wood in winter then? :confused1:

Wet wood in summer at discount , Keeps cash flow going and free up storage if your doing enough volume

Dry for September at new seasons prices

My best customers I don't see in winter

I find there are summer customers, ones who like to stock up, especially if they live really out by and have delivery problems in bad weather. Log sales never stop, just get fewer from May-July.
