on new-age electronically controlled carbs ( ms280i and the soon to be released husky 576autotune)... not an issue for most

Oohh that sounds interesting will have to have a look at those :001_smile:

TBH I reckon fuel injection and turbo chargers are the way forward, would be great on an 020 :scared1:

I have the TECH-TACH TT-20K think it was about £50 ish.

This is the manufacture web site Design Technologies. Hand-Held economical tachometers. Wireless tachometers.

And this is the UK one, although it is a bit of a poor site tinytachuk tinytach

I had a tiny tach and they swapped it for the tt-20K the tiny has a wee thin button battery and seems to be really badly affected by cold and the unit wont work. The TT-20K has a PP9 battery and works better it also comes with a clip on lead that is handy as i you can clip it on the plug wire and have both hands free to run whatever your using.

Ported 262XP running a little rich.

A tach is no substitute for setting a saw by ear but once set by ear/timed cuts/plug colour its useful to check quickly that its still in tune.

Saying that at least when you try to set a rev limited saw its easy to see if its 4stroking or on the limiter as the tach goes nuts.
