No, blew countless motors to pieces, then the bull bar fell off, then the electrics packed up, then the front outriggers fell off, then the electrics packed up, then the rear chassis member fell off then the electrics packed up again.

Saw the light and bought jap.

Tows a tiny bit less, but hey, it stays dry inside, warm, comfortable, you can shut the door without having to wind window down, quiet so you can actually hear the radio, quicker, more efficent, more reliable, cheaper to run. only bad thing is it doesnt have rovers patent self preservation system, ie it doesnt puke oil out of everywhere to hold back the rust, slightly.

That will happen to any motor with age and no maintainance

I've never maintained a vehicle electrical system or chassis. Engine yes, suspension yes, steering yes.

Guess it's a landrover thing to rewire and galvanize your chassis. One of the joys of ownership no doubt.

200 tdi will be of an age that used electrical bullet connections maintainance includes cleaning and putting silicone grease in. Chassis maintainance includes cleaning off mud from the top of the front outriggers and wax oil or rust proofing other areas.

Basic stuff on any motor really. Landrover always get slagged; they are a tractor, a work horse and if looked after will last 30 plus years. They were never built for or intended for comfort and just like any other piece of mechanical engineering, if you run them with no maintainance eventually they'll bust

I looked at a P reg 110 station wagon the other week that had a chassis like new, but I know it's history and the workers who used it had to wash it down every friday when they had finished working with it.

The chassis are a bit of a bad design at that back, but a regular wash will keep it lasting.
