Doesn't matter what industry your in theses days there's so much competition and there's always someone cheaper. All you gotta do is ride it out with quality work and reputation and watch the others come and go. Go subbing etc to fill in gaps. No shame in that. Takes time to build up a company especially as clients will have to sieve through the crap to find some one decant. I think we forget that customers can find it hard to find someone genuine in a saturated market.

Be honest with your clients and do a first class job, you will soon stand out from the rest. I dont know how many "tree surgeons" are around my area, they pop up come and go, some stay around but I only know of maybe 2 out of the lot I would recommend as being good.

Before you set yourself up, save some funds to draw on if you can. You will get work if you are hard working, honest and fair. BUT it may take a little time to get yourself known and established. Competition is good if you know you can do the job as well as they can and promote yourself well.

If it is your passion. Then do it. If it is just for money. Forget it.
