it's a complete mystery!!!!!

 

sprocket was relatively new, bar is old but can't see how it could be worn that much an still run chains ok?

 

drive link count was correct also!

 

it's got me completely baffled

I had a problem with something similar a few years ago when I had a couple of Oregon chains from Ebay which stretched beyond the point of adjustment very quickly after being fitted. They turned out to be fake, which the guy from Oregon was very interested in. It's only a thought, but are your chains definitely genuine? :001_smile:

If the chain is made from softer material as the cheap ones probably are then you could have had wear on the pins and in the holes. Seems like stretching but could easily be wear. Of course lack of oil would have the same result.

Brand new 357XP which was (and still is) oiling fine and I had to adjust the chain after 30 seconds of use. I didn't even get close to finishing cutting one length of timber before the new chain was FUBAR. :001_smile:
