Anybody else with an unhealthy obsession with knackered saws noticed that 026/260s are currently fetching stupid money while 036s are going for peanuts?

I can see that an 026 has wider appeal, but they seem to be fetching over £200 at the moment, whereas 036s can be had for nearly £100 less...

Odd.

:confused1:

Not really looked at the 036 etc but been looking at 260's etc and good condition ones are 240-270

To me i'd rather pay 240-270 for a better condition one rather than 180 for a crap one

Ive not seen an 036 go that low but the 026's are making strong money as are xp saws.

All saws seem to still be making good money by now (time of year) they've normally tailed off slightly.

Every time I see something im interested in it sails past any realistic figure to the poinyt I think sometimes I should unload a few and cash in...

I have noticed this as well, don't know how many hours I've spent looking recently looking for a knackered saw and they stihl go for silly money.... No bargains to be had

Just put a new Meteor piston in a lightly seized 026 that otherwise is in very good nick. Haven't pressure and vacuumed it yet but it's pulling over 200psi. I'll want good money for it though!

PS...I've also given up looking for saws on the bay, punters are paying silly money for shite saws and good ones don't fetch that much more, even if you describe them accurately and have good feedback.
