Re Lighting protection assistance required

Hi

I have just been asked if I could fit a lighting protection into a large tree located close to a building (no further details as yet). Is there anybody qualified to potentially assist me with this, currently I am just about to start researching this subject in detail but thought i would put this post up first.

Thanks

When researching you'll realise it's a fairly easy task to carry out, but the main problem I had was finding stock and parts. American standards has a paper on it I beleive so that may be a good source to read from, they do a lot of it over there.

Good luck and post pics if you get the go ahead.

Think it's more on the lines of protection from damage caused to tree if lightning did strike. Get the charge to pass to ground, without it passing through tree, (Turning sap to steam and blasting the tree apart.)
