TPO Checks and waiting time.

We have the same problem with Southampton.I gave up with the last check after waiting three weeks. Some times you can get through and speak to someone and they will tell me over the phone but i like to get something back like an email to have with me on site just in case someone asks what I'm upto and have had to show before to nosey neighbours.Apparently Southampton have laid of some of there tree division and are having a big shift around so maybe thats why who knows.

Don't start me with Southampton, they are a complete waste of time, we had a job there with several TPO'd trees so I called them and asked if I could meet with the tree officer on site to go through and agree a schedule of works, they said sorry he doesn't do site mettings, I said well he will have to go to site anyway when we submit an application so lets meet at the start rather than send correspondance back and forth and still they flatly refused, we submitted the app and they refused some of the work which was fair enough but a site meeting would have saved everyone time and money.

Tree bloke, I know rob penlington has all Coventry stuff up on website. Warwick maybe too. Think he only works in warwick office towards end of week.

Direct number for coventry office to ring Monday if you want to chat to him 02476831269.

I know that they do not normally cross reference between two council office roles, but he'll let you know when to ring to get it dealt with quickly.

If you have to get ring back, dont mention its warwick work else won't get call back.

01926736491, warwick office, they'll give you district office number if trees are in district zone.

Not all the LPA's have this as yet, it will be a good job when they do.

Some authorities don't have all of their TPO'd trees' documentation (listing location, species, etc), let alone a mapping system available for all. It's tricky once in such a situation to get out of it, particularly as tree officers' roles are diluted with further responsibility and financial cut-backs are made.

And it doesn't always work, shows trees on the wrong side of boundaries and even the planning staff view it and give the wrong information. SNAFU.

One local council to us has a website that I haven't been able to access for two months, when I could, it took several minutes to zoom in. Another consistently fails when you enter an address or try to pan the map.

Another authorities site leads you through multiple pages towards a GIS page, that then tells you that they're still creating TPO'd tree locations and it will available soon. This has been the situation for several months.

Planning departments constantly wonder why we ring up:confused1: and then can't get into their own systems.

Still, it doesn't matter, we're only trying to operate businesses within the restraints of statutory protection..

Feeling better now I've got that off of my chest:001_rolleyes:
