Picaroon - any good?

I have a metal one identical to the Oregon one always found it very useful saves bending down to drag rings about. I am not sure I would get on well with a heavy wooden one especially if I missed the wood and it was heading for a shin.

 

I've got a nice scar on my ankle from exactly that 10mm to the right and it would of been bad.

 

Like using the long Stihl one if selecting cord from the end of a stack give you valuable time to move if stack collapses forward.

 

Even better in the tele
