Hi there, Just reviving this thread. My spider jacks started to wear through to the pin. only had it about 10 months. Does this mean I need to be getting a new body for it soon, as it ain't cheap.

Oh bloody hell, I got a while then as its only just appearing. So when should I get a new wear pin for it then? did you just keep getting new wear pins for it?

I didn't know you could

Get new pins I thought it was just new bodies, but I could be wrong, the SJ is useless at this stage, brand new cams were slipping and a bit prior to this cams wouldn't last that long either. I couldn't get the pin out of this one, maybe to worn.

I think the pin wearing isn't the problem it's just the indicator, the body itself wears out the most and needs replacing.

The more wear on the body the quicker you'll go through clutches it's worth weighing up the odds and how comfortable you feel on a worn out device :-)

I've gotten to the stage where I just accept that SJ slips, I do replace cams etc.

when I'm in a position where its a pita slipping i flip the tail of the rope over the wooden block and that locks it out.
