No probs BUT the whole unit has no CE mark (not needed in NZ). The individual components do apart from the splice (which is tested, a lot) so not sure what loler would say. But if you want one then can always send the bits so you just assemle yourself-sling, cocoon, spliced eye rope, etc....

sounds like something ain't quite right then. in my experience 16 strand is alwaystight to get the final bury on, a wee bit of force needed to help it through. i've never seen spark never mind spliced it.

Done away with the splice that holds the shackle at the other end-i was concerned that if someone removed it and didnt replace it then there was a possibility of the webbing sling going off the end due to no stopper knot. Ive now put a stopper knot instead and stitched in place so it cant be removed unintentionally. The shackle is now on a piece of webbing-the same as the cocoon. Doing this also enables you to put the shackle closer to the cocoon for retrieval and also means you can have multiple TIPs if doing weak trees, pollards etc... all you need to add are some revolvers or normal carabiners. You could also put a revolver in the webbing and put it close to the soft eye to prevent the cocoon popping through the soft eye-even though ive never had this happen. Ive also changed the soft eye a bit so that it stays open more but still without using any metal.
