Ethanol Shield 2 stroke

Seemingly with the UK surrounded by water the availability of non-ethnol fuel should be readily available?. Unless boat engines are different in your part of the world non-ethnol fuel is very common for my state of Florida and I am seeing more stations offering non-ethnol fuel on a monthly basis and all boat marina's only sell non-ethnol fuel. I believe there may be more sources than most folk know about in the UK.

We generally use diesel for boats, lorries and most cars. Even the decent sized ride-on mowers are diesel!

There are probably stocks of ethanol free fuel, but most people won't know about them.

Most, if not all, outboard motors are petrol. Thats a hell of a lot of outboards.

Not to worry, mine both run solely on Aspen!

If your correct there is your source of non ethnol fuel for the remaining public to use. I would call any and all marinas before I made the trip with your fuel cans to top off. If one has a ready source of the proper fuel in the first place, for the most part fuel contamination problem solved:thumbup1:.

Thanks Eddy_T. Kinda of figured there was some sort of logical market driven force precluding lack of non-ethnol sources of petrol. I would be curious as to the ratio of diesel to non diesel boat engines there are in the UK.

We have speed limits on all our canals and rivers, so the majority of boats we see are canal barges. Outboard motors are petrol, but they're mainly little fishing boats. The rich may have petrol speedboats, but with waterway restrictions, I doubt they get used as much as the US counterparts.

But I thought the sale of non ethanol petrol was illegal ie it all had to have ethanol added. I'm not aware of any exemption for marine or any other use?

Outboard motors must have ethanol free fuel in order to run. Just contact your marina and see if they have it and or can sell it to the general public.

Regrettably considering the regulation nation the the UK has become and big brother by way of the EU pouring more salt into an open wound I would not be surprised if this source of fuel is restricted:sneaky2::thumbdown:
