I thought about doing it.....

 

But worked on the basis that if it did bugger the td5 engine it's going to cost me alot more than what I've saved on fuel.

 

There are other people who run them on used engine oil. Filtering it before it goes in the tank. Didn't do it for the same reason.

I used to run my banana Transit on 10% vedge oil, ran a lot smoother and quieter, quicker through the gears as well.

 

To run it 100% you need to run the vedge oil through an oil cooler connected to the heater circuit to warm it up!

 

Chip shop oil needs to be run through a filter system then acids added that have been taken away by the frying.

Common rails can only be run on very light blends, maybe 20%. To run in modified on high percentages of bi you need an older diesel with a Bosch fuel pump (not Lucas) old Mercedes are best as they were also indirect injection which aids combustion of the heavier oil.
