When I either ride the clutch or press it to change gear I hear a strange noise coming from it. It feels like bearing problems. It doesn't make a noise when in neutral or when I'm driving only when changing gear. Has anyone any idea what it could be and what sort of cost I may expect to repair it. Thanks in advance. Marc

Can't help re cost of labour/parts on a tranny but sounds like maybe the clutch release bearing is failing. Its usually replaced when fitting a new clutch but someone here will know more n me.

If you hear a noise when clutch pedal pressed, most likely clutch release bearing on way out :001_smile:

Its either failing or eating into the clutch diaphragm spring

I'll second the above! Sounds like the most likely cause.

It ate it Wednesday afternoon just after finishing job. I was an hour and 20min away from home. It dumped a load of clutch oil on the floor. Did sound like release bearing. Will find out today when it gets sorted
