I`ve got a hp eagle, off the top of my head was about 1650 new + vat. Works well for me and is good when using it on wood that is not dead straight (arb waste) as you can do a couple of cuts then turn the length to get an other couple of logs, and so on.

I note the rocker is located on different sides of the blade pending model.

Personally, I would find using the Eagle saw a pain, as I would be pushing the length from right to left. I'm right hand dominant btw.

I know what your saying about the difference between the japa and hp, some one I know has the japa, and I found it more of a pain picking the cut logs with my left hand, to the splitter. I`m right handed as well, I guess its down to personal choice.

Swinny, try both types if you can, see what you prefer.

I'm right handed and the HP was fine for me but then I have an old japa that's also easy to use. Makes no difference which machine you will get used to it

If you are doing less than 50 cube per year I would hire some one in - I have said it many times before but I have seem claims of people producing 15 cube an hour with a road towable processor.
