Pear Tree to be cut into planks SE5

I have had a pear tree cut down and the logs are stacked ready for cutting into planks. There are about 8 lengths between 12-18” diameter as shown in the attached photo.

There is a 3 foot wide concrete slab space adjacent to where the wood is stacked. If this is not adequate size for the saw, a larger saw could be parked in the street. This would require the logs being carried up an outside metal staircase and to the front gate. I live in Camberwell, London, SE5

I’d like to get a cost estimate for this work.

Just to confirm, 8off lengths of 12"-18" diameter x 6ft length?

What thickness would you like it milled to, and is it through and through, or quarter sawn? This will affect the time it takes.

I can do it, with a chainsaw powered bandsaw so minimum waste on kerf.

If you can confirm the spec. I'll drop you a pm with a price.

Cheers

Alec

Hey Alec,

What make of bandsaw is that mate? I've had a look online and seen the Ripsaw one. I never realised there was such a thing.

Yes, it's a Ripsaw. There is a short bit of video of it and some pictures on the milling pics and vids thread. Its capacity isn't huge but it is extremely quick and wastes almost nothing in sawdust. The pear is about the ideal size for it.
