new climber, most comfortable spikes and harness

Hi all, am now starting to climb and would like some advice as to which harness and spikes are best for comfort and security please, thanks.

It's all personal choice really, try on what you can and go from there. As for spikes I'm not sure, I use Buckingham personally

The honest answer is the ones which fit your body best. There is no right answer to this. The best advice I have is to try as many different bit of as you can before you buy. Visit a shop or two and see what feels right. my personal answer is a treemotion harness and carbon gecko spikes however if these were the be all and end all a lot of gear wouldn't exist.

Find yourself a good arboricultural equipment supplier and it's half the battle

I use a Petzl sequoia 2014 harness and distel gecko aluminium spikes. Both were bought without trying on, and both are comfortable enough to wear all day without issue. I used a komet dragonfly on my cs38 and found it really uncomfortable, but I know others who liked it. Like others have said, if you can try before you buy then that's he best option. Unfortunately I don't have a decent Arb dealer nearby, so am reliant on the Internet.
