Emergency price to make safe

I would never commence any work having not confirmed prior to it what the price was. And if they fall down whilst you stand there then you really wouldn't have wanted to climb it.

I would ask yourself how long the entire trip\job took you the other night, then add this to the cost of what you would charge for the works without the emergency work.

When you send him theinvoice accompany a letter detailing that with the travel time, transport costs, and riskief nature of this particular job your invoice for the other day I x amount, the total cost for the other work to be completed is y, and your grand total is z.

He mat be ad good as gold about it all. He may expect you to have priced it all as if the callout hasn't happened. Such situations can bight you on the backside if not dealt with and confirmed beforehand.

As for cost of the emergency works with travel time, and also taking into consideration any loss of earnings/time as having to do this callout then 180-250 would be tolerable.

If he gets grumpy then use it as an opportunity to educate him of your professional status and kindly remind him Tha you advised he did this work several months ago.

His method of tree management is what councils call reactive tree management, it can prove to be costly if things go wrong

We have a set fees for call outs that you can tell the client before you go to the job. First you shouldn't have been climbing on your own especially in that situation.. I don't think a client is going to be happy with £500 for 40 mins work for one man.

Includes travelling: and chipper.

2 man team - normal hours £150 for first hour then £95 per hour

Antisocial hours (after 5pm and sundays) £250 for first hour then £150 per hour.

I would then give a price to clear up if there is any..

 This sounds about right - Any trades call out fees are more than regular rates, especially if has been advised to work on them previously. For us a call out is just a make-safe, then quote to go back and finish the job as usual.

Thanks gentleman, I'm aware and also believe in not taking advantage of other peoples misfortune but at the same time, it was poor conditions and price should reflect that over what it would have cost him several months ago.

Thanks for replies, will sort it out in a min, cheers

But it wasnt his misfortune as he ignored the problem? You put yourself out and took a bit of a risk to help him out so dont sell yourself short!
