hello eddy the top end is 13500 rpm and its a proffesional engine design not a clamshell the high engine psi was revealed too me by two top blokes in the saw world, i tried to test the PSI today but this saw is fitted with a small thread cm plug and i havent got an adaptor that goes that small but once i get an adaptor i will test it :thumbup:

 

 

Pity the rpm isn't 2k higher. 195psi is very high for a stock saw!

That's pretty slow! I'll assume that's the 50cc saw that revs that high.

 

How does the 421 compare in weight to the ms241?

Yes that is the 50cc saw that revs the highest

 

I haven't got a Ms 241 too compare it too. All I can say is the 242 is longer and narrower than the dolmar

They weight pretty close.

Shavey, sorry for the slight derail, but I seem to recall that you posted that you had the DolMac 9010 studs and backplate for D009 bars in stock

Thanks I thought it was you.

I'm assuming that if you fit the studs in the set of holes nearest the clutch then you have to drill out the holes marked in the side cover. Is the only advantage of doing it this way that it keeps the standard link count for the bar? Is there any problem with using the 9mm studs in the normal position and just putting in a couple of extra links. I don't want to reduce the size of the !4mm flanges as this saw gets used on a double headed mill using the Large sthil mount.

This is what I have in that cc bracket for saw weights from my thread on AS:

 

Echo cs-400 10lbs.04oz

Stihl ms 241 c-m 10lbs.09oz

Echo 500p 10lbs.09oz

Dolmar ps-420 10lbs.11oz

Stihl ms 026 10lbs.15oz

 

Bear in mind that 500P and 026 are 49cc saws. The 500P is based upon the Shindaiwa 446/452/502 chassis.
