Hi. the traditional route to MICFor has been via a forestry degree, or now arb degree of course.

I believe they have previously accepted the RFS Prof. Dip. Arb as a deemed equivalent but, as I understand it, there is some concern re- the ABC Awards L6 Arb because it only involves 60 credits as opposed to 240 credits and 360 credits for the FdSc Arb and BSc Arb respectively (credits are the 'building blocks' of qualifications, hence the more credits the 'BIGGER' the qual...but often at the same level, e.g. level 5/6.)

Hence prob. best to speak to the ICF for a definitive as things may have changed, or may do so in the future (I don't know.)

Good luck with your application :thumbup1:

Paul

Yes I did read some earlier post about the l6 not having enough points.

I haven't yet gained l6 but I'm trying to plan ahead.

Was going to join the icf, I know I can't join as a professional member until l6 or similar is gained. I was planning on undertaking my l6 diploma with the intention to become chartered.

I'm working toward ICF with my L6 and they don't seem to have a problem. They know that is what I have and are encouraging me to pursue. In fact Dave Dowson was my reference to join so no issue there as far as I can see.

Email Stuart Glen of ICF, he manages admissions. You'll find him on linked in. If you struggle to find him click on my LinkedIn page via my website and he is one of my connections. I will also drop him an email tomorrow if I get time and let you know the outcome.

Good luck.

Thanks chris, ii will email him.

Do you need a reference of a currant member?

Yes, from a professional member, I think you may need two to go straight in at associate member. I got away with one as I joined as a student when doing L6 and they only ask for one then. I then switched to associate this year. The info is all on the application forms.

Cheers,
