Haix Protector Forrest

Lads,

 

Apologies if this has been asked before but the search facility isn't returning much in the way of results. .

 

I'm looking at buying my first pair of chainsaw boots.

The vast majority of my work will be in high wet ground; I'm considering buying a pair of Haix Protector Forrest boots. . . As im sure your aware they are the thick end of £200.00 so want to be certain I'm making the right choice. .

 

Can anyone comment on these boots from personal experience as to how well they perform and specifically if they remain waterproof in wet ground.

 

Any comments, positive or negative would be well received.

Meindl Woodwalkers would be the better choice.

I had the Haix's and after about 9 months the soles started to come away . I changed to Meindl and never looked back , they are way better .

To that end are the Meindl boots generally better quality than the Haix?

I was considering moving from meindl airstreams to haix forest pro! I've not been happy with the airstreams this time soles just fallen to bits

I'm on my 2nd pair of Haix Protectors...first pair lasted fairly well but ended up falling apart and leaking even in light showers. The second pair are 11months old and the sole has started to come away from the upper, still completely water proof tho.

 

I'll be going on to Airstreams when these are knackered. Haix are bit too big/tall for me.

On second pair of Haix Protectors. First pair lasted 2 years but I looked after them with dubbin etc. Second pair about a year now and going strong. Dry, warm feet.

I have a pair of size eights wore them for four days didn't get on with selling them for 120 pounds if you want them
