I Tig daily 90% stainless and 9% mild and 1% aluminium once you have it mastered it really is a lovely welding process electric gas welding ! very clean very civilised we refer to it as gentleman's welding :)

 

I am proficient in Mig Arc tig and gas welding and brazing and tig is the most controllable and precise method I use :)

 

 

TIG welding stainless steel has to be one of the cleanest job ever done!

No sparks, no fumes ( of any amount), and you don't need to even paint it afterwards !!

 

Nice but mig's still more convenient!

Agree on the stainless ! love welding it !

 

Disagree on the convenience 5 Tig sets around our place all ready to go we have to plug the Mig in to use that lol ! Its just as easy for us to use either as there always setup.

 

I really really like to Arc weld on heavy steel so satisfying to burn rods full length and to get the slag to curl !
