Ropewrench ascending through crotches - help!

Recommended Posts

Thanks fellas, good stuff.

Really struggled today.

Was actually worried about the intense pressure the forks were placing on my system.

Weirdly I've never struggled with skinny forks, but these were big 'uns.

18" dia limbs.

The tree was about 360' tall.

Over a motorway.

There were sharks in the ditches.

Burning the rakings and dust seemed easy in comparison.ImageUploadedByArbtalk1422054587.457932.jpg.1d102fef6b9f008f2ae0b8c705befa82.jpg

Do you find that you disconnect often when climbing back through natural redirects or is that my inexperience?

Daniel.

I try to avoid them more now, mainly so I don't have to get back through them! Much prefer to use a hardware based redirect than natural, though obviously it needs some consideration whether you use a static or dynamic redirect

A static redirect is when a Alpine Butterfly is tied into the line and the 'bina & sling are attached to this? These are only preferable when there is a chance the redirection point may snap?

Daniel.
