372 Xtorq problem

Had a similar problem with a 346xp.

Turned out the earth electrode had snapped off the plug and wedged down the side of the piston. Luckily almost no damage at all, think it cost me £7.50ish in parts (new gasket & plug).

As pictures it was part of the exhaust stuck at the to of the cylinder,

That muffler is a real mess, carefully check the edges of the ports and transfers for metal bruising but hopefully you have got away with it!

Hello , yes had a good check and couldn't find any there pieces,, i think its been pressed to hard when moulded giving a weak point,,

 

It's going full cycle now turning flywheel by hand as im still waiting for exhaust gasket to come through post,,

 

A Quick question,, ive forgot how(where )gasket does back in ,, Is it exhaust , heat sheild , gasket , cylinder ????????

Exhaust , then gasket , then heat shield , then cylinder.

Yes, the gasket fits between the exhaust and heat shield.

Why didn't it go back where you got it from ? There's been some serious vibration to fret the muffler to that condition. At 4 months old I don't think I would have taken apart without the manufacturer or distributor seeing it first. Have you got any pictures of the piston, was it damaged ?

I got the saw from the big online seller on here,, saving 100-170 localy ,, these saws can be worked on easy , but yes i should of tried my local dealer for warranty but id just sold the 372 it was replacing and my 560 wont run a 24 inch,,

The way i looked at was ive got old exhaust + 2 hours = saw fixed,,

 

I have since got a new 560 which was from local supplier costing me 120extra, but that supplier is now giving up husky as they cant do anything to autotune so out of pocket again,,

 

Im finding that the newer saw are made with weaker parts as clutch / chain tensioner cover on 560 and 372 have both got 2 lump out of each and brake handle on 372 xtorq has a crack in it and brake handle from older saws dont fit as x torq is about 10 mm longer ,,

You may find the online dealer would supply a new exhaust free of charge if they viewed your images - always worth a try but see your point of view on fixing a fault yourself if relatively easy. Would have been different if that part had clumped up one of the port edges in the cylinder!
