Have a look on Youtube, go to some climbing comp's, look out for or ask about any recreational climbs. A few people on here do them now and again.

Good luck and don't give up.

You need to pester companies around you even offer to work for free, the best way to improve is to make mistakes and essentally you want to expend as little energy for the most gains up and down the same tree will knacker you it's about a 10 min plan When you're on the deck before you even put on a harness

Don't offer to work for free.

If I was desperate I would do a days work for free if it helped me get a foot in a door

I'd treat that day as further education

Sometimes for fun when on a dismantle I like to see how far I can get out on a branch before it snaps. You can usually go further than you think, though once or twice I've been swung into the stem holding the end of a snapped branch
