kohler comand 20 hp

i have this engine on a grinder (ram) does anyone know if you can convert them to pull start? it keeps killing starters.

I had one of them on an Oregon chipper (yes! Oregon made chippers!) years ago and it came with a pull start recoil - can your nearest Kohler dealer / service agent find out?

so they can be converted, interesting, the kohler dealer close to me are very poor and only want to sell you another engine.

Will prob also say why it keeps knackering stater motors, the 25hp ones dont

i have a 18hp on a grinder and have no issues with the starter motor, i should investigate further before you start converting things.

it has went through 2 in the last 8 months, i have been getting them recond so they may be using rubbish parts, i will look at the price of a genuine kohler starter and take it from there.
