Budding in December........

Russ

Call me crazy, but I reckon Russ may be the first to offer a sensible answer to the question (apart from the earlier call to refine the question).

Was that the point, what are they doing, with this odd winter?!

Define "Budding"???????????

The buds are already there when the leaves fall.

No idea what the questioner is asking about. But they're biological organisms, so all they are doing is reproducing.

Putting down roots and branching out, sounds like they are contradicting themselves. They are also forming awkward growths making it harder to split them for firewood, so they are standing about doing knotting.

They are doing meore than reproduce -

They 'breathe', feed, grow, move, respond to a stimulus (all be it very slowly), they excrete, reproduce, die (maybe another one - can't remember).

These are the characteristics of every living organism on the planet. Maybe except for people in Durrington.

If our main purpose is procreation of the species then why are some not inclined to behave in a manner which would facilitate this?

Illogical, captain.

Are there gay trees?
