I think it's the etched number tree quip is mistaking for the serial number hence only supplying 4 as half of them are scratched off.

FFS do you think I don't know the difference between something someone did with a dremmel and the machines serial number?

Its in Pic 6 and the number is 069140982, or something like that

The point is the machine has a serial number

Blind???

Stupid more like, the serial number is where the serial number is on all modern stihl chainsaws, if you don't know that much what kind of super sleuth are you?

It ends in 0982 as far as I can be bothered looking

That's unnecessarily harsh.

TriggerNW is new to Arbtalk, and I'd rather have 100 threads of 'Is this maybe, possibly stolen' resulting in a couple of success stories than us all keeping schtum and noone ever getting any of their stolen kit back.

It seems Trigger in this instance that the seller is legit, but please don't let this put you off raising any concerns in future. Lots of Arbtalkers have lost kit, and any help in recovering it/making it harder for the low lifes who nick it is always appreciated.

Bloody hell, you must have a good resolution on your screen, but evidently still not good enough to read a serial number! Stihls don't start with 0!

Wind ya neck back in and chill!
