Old stihl disc cutter

The pawls etc are still available for pennys from stihl. (I ordered some several months back)

If you have issues with the fuel line the 070/090 line is exactly the same. Sometimes the 051/075/076 ipl list a part number that comes up as unavailable for the fuel line but the 090 is the same with a different p/n.

If it is an early model one of the crank bearings is oddball and hasn't been available for several years although I know i sourced the last few I could find from Canada and have 1 spare left.

The decomp valve will turn but wont act as a decomp valve much the same as modern day decomps. It needs to be pushed in to work. It is however a larger rarer size m10 rather than the very common m8 size used on most saws of today.

I have a few spares if you need, such as clutch cover and front handle, also have a few other parts but I can't remember what they are as its new year...

Thanks, I do need a clutch cover, and dogs, air filter base and top the list goes on. I've got a mate with a few old stihls so I'll ask him first but I may need to come back to you

Those dogs can be filed back to correct squareness if they're rounded off.

Is that same engine as 075?

On the old one we have, the decompression valve turns round if twiddled, but it clicks in to use. Has been prone to loosen it's way out occasionally which was a pain.

Good luck with your clean up job. Have got a cannibal 075 but not sure what's left of it!

Cheers, John.

I'm pretty sure it's closer to an 050 so if it is it's 90cc and 52mm bore, the 075 is bigger.

Can't seem to push the decomp valve in.

Got the plug out

My fault I broke it but found another, so checked for a spark, it's got one. Replaced the plug, little bit of aspen into the carb pulled it over an I'm sure it fired but couldn't fire it again.

Went back to it this morning put some fuel in the tank gave it a few pulls it coughed, few more, big cloud of smoke and it fired up! Revved up ok but I think it should have been harder to pull over is this a lack of compression? Is it worth getting it tested?
