UK based website hosting and servers?

I've got a couple of website domain names registered with a firm called Namehog, I've used them in the past and would have happily used them again, but it seems that they've gone downhill since a takeover early in the year.

Hi, I'm thinking about setting up a proper website including domain name, which I have never done before and also have no idea about how to go about it.
From briefly looking on Google, I'm impressed with go daddy.
Is it easy to do, or am I better off getting someone to do it for me, as like I said I am totally out of my depth with anything like this.

I used to have one I made myself but it was absolutely rubbish
