Not sure if the UK, etc.. has a champion big tree registry. But the USA has one as well as for each state.

I checked some numbers last week, and realized that coast redwood surpassed General Sherman giant sequoia's 1321 points by no less than 40 points. Its actually a wider margin but I just want to leave it at 40 for now.

Felt like sharing this photo again. It seems very peaceful and relaxing.

We sold our home and have an offer on a house 280 miles south in southern Oregon. That will put me just two or three cups of coffee's drive from the redwoods after we move this June 10th.

But buying, selling and moving is hectic. So photos like this one are especially enjoyable at present.

That's not the same as the last lady in red is it?

Not the same. The previous photo a couple posts ago and from past months was Kiera of Crescent city. The last red dress woman is the girlfriend of a friend Chad in Grants Pass, Oregon. We went exploring together and later that day took some photos for her ... she is part native American (Blackfoot).

Even more recently, I took some portraits of Kiera's younger sister in the forest and at Crescent City. She may become my new forest model now that Kiera moved to San Diego.

So, how exactly do you talk these beautiful young things into going into the woods with you?

Most often a trade / TFP shoot, time for photos. Or if I suspect I may sell prints from the shoot, possibly paid, or split the difference. Like the photo on the photo book cover a number of posts earlier, I pretty much knew in advance that I was going to sell that photo like on the book cover.

But I've done scores of trade shoots where the women, or some guys, get the photos for their own use too.
