So having gone out to the Defender this morning and the bugger refuses to start again (nothing but clicking noises). I've ordered myself an Optima Red top Battery (I've checked the alternator it's fine).

Anyone with any experience?

I'm told they're the dogs shiny bits.

I,m betting you have had warnings that your battery is failing and you have ignored it.

First signs of battery failure is normally on the first cold mornings of winter.

A battery really has a useful life of 5 years, after that it a bonus

Think I've already admitted that, but thanks for the input.

What I'm really after, is anyone with any experience with the Optima batteries, so just ignore the back story (my mistake for including it).
