The way that the article is written does suggest that it's trash but it is true that HMRC does have hit lists.

Back when I was an accountant and the anti laundering legislations had newly came out we were told by our CPD training provider that the "tax man" had convicted a solicitor for money laundering and next in there sights was an accountant for high publicity to show they meant business.
