Very like the STX...nice machine..I would still wear eye protection. Makes me wince when I see people using chainsaws or machinery like feeding a chipper with visor up! We only have one pair of eye balls...I knew a farmer who had no front teeth because a chipper spat out a log at him.

Hi John, i did look at buying the Toro which has a very similar spec, the negative things for yours are,its too wide, and the working position to the rear creates a blind spot around the stump when grinding, and i bet that wheel would slow very quickly as it sinks into the ground, especially on harder wood and in the wet on clay and even more once the chisels are dull. Positives, great price, green teeth are the best especially the reds, ( my opinion ) and should be lower down time having no belts to the cutter wheel, great cutting ark, but ask your self this, how many do you think you will sell and what would the resale value of one be as an known brand ? i after much research and after owning a lot of different grinders bit the bullet and got a new Jo Beau b31-110 i have run it now for 2 years and its the best money maker i have ever invested in.

Hi Marne,

Out of interest why ?

Regards

John

I have not used or seen it live yet, but from the video my thoughts are the following:

the machine has no expandable tracks, so when on a slope or in the hole from a big stump to get out the last bit of the roots, I really doubt it's stability.

From the carlton 5014 trx I thougt the same... a few months later the machine was suddenly available with expandables, while the hydraulic rod now seems right to be in the chip and stone flow, while expanded:stupid: but thats another story.

There is no space under the machine for chips, it will built it's own obstacle in front of it.

Power loss according to the hydraulics, it may be even weaker than a 1625 or a 252.

Outstanding is the sweep arc!

99" is unique in this class and imho the most limiting factor on small grinders, a killer pro feature.

Best regards

Marne
