Foot ascender on carbon Geckos

Hello.

New guy on this forum.

I want to add a foot ascender to my spikes, but since the shanks are made of carbon, maybe they will be weakened and possibly brake after drilling holes to attach the ascender? They are a bit expensive so I don´t want to gamble...

Anybody who has tried it? Any thoughts?

Wear a Pantin under your spikes, or wait for those Kiwi boys to bring out the one that fits under the gaff with the same bolts.

ive used a pantin under the geckos too, works okish, wouldnt dream of drilling into me carbon gecks!

Seems to be available in dec at Treeworker.

Good timing... a bit pricey maybe, but what the... I´m a gear junkie.

Might as well admit it now alredy.

Followed it's devolpment with interest since the first time I heard about it.i used to wear my pantin with my spikes like Bolam mentioned...great little product that Dale designed...very nice bloke as well.:thumbup:

Pantin under spikes works, but it's not perfect.

This looks like it will tick all the boxes.

I guess I will find out, but do I need to replace the srews with longer ones, or can I use the ones on the spikes?
