Is this worth milling

Thoughts on this would be good if the photo uploads. Large turkey oak had in yard for a couple of years.

No way!! Turkey oak is one of my most favourite timbers, especially when spalted....you can get a glass like finish too if you sand to 4000 grit.

Thanks for the reply maybe I will try milling a few smaller bits as most are over 4ft across. Just need a mill now and will be having a go.

Hi jaclal I am only in dorset and have a 4ft alaskan so if you want to have a deal give me a ring my numbers are on another post worth milling from last week as yaffle says you can get some cool figuring so get in toutch if you want to have a go at milling it

Go for it! Given that it's been in your yard for a couple of years it might have some interesting suprises when you mill it.

I've got plenty beautiful spalted Turkey Oak milled myself already. Hope to show you some in a few weeks!

Hi Mark sounds great would be interested in some sort of deal. If it's timber then there is loads to go round. Got some interesting curved English oak about three metres long didn't want to turn it into firewood just yet. Cheers Carl
