Some of you know well of my latest escapade...

Thought I'd share some pics of our latest Job. We were contracted to clear the invasive species from a very sensative

nature reserve. The site is a raised bog on DEEP peat, is a SSSI, and is a bit of a jewel to the client.

Therefore, strictly no machines on the bog - even if you dared to, there is very little that would'nt sink out of site on here.

So, we decided to use a cable yarder to skyline extract everything. Talk about steep learning curve!

Spar trees ripped out the ground, snapped in half,stumps popped like corks, steel cables snapped (and field spliced together again)

and 101 other problems, we are now a crack cable logging crew. We've also proved that it is perfectly feasable to work the wettest of

sites, without taking on machinery.

Apparantly, Moss is the climax species of Northern temperate forests.
