Parmiter post driver

Does anyone know of any companies that sell parts for the older parmiter post drivers please? I've searched on the internet briefly but can't find anything on the older stuff.

 

Any pointers would be great, thanks in advance.

I used to run one of these. I used a bearing/belt industrial transmission shop for new chain and a hydraulic shop for new seals for the ram.

 

What parts are you after, because it's standard steel sizes and off the shelf parts except the hammer weight. The gears should be findable

I still have and old parmiter we dont use anymore but if you require advice on parts etc i have a fair idea as we did ours up.

Thanks for the quick replies! It's a blue 'contractor', the chain broke today. Not ideal! I have been told there are 2 different types?

Fit pulleys and rope like modern models have, good engineering shop should be able to make pulleys then buy rope.

You can still get all the bits from shelbourne parmiter in Suffolk. As already said you will be better to convert to rope if possible although if you buy the conversion kit from shelbournes it wont be cheap!

When I replaced our chain it lasted until we sold it. It should last years. Unbolt the the ends take it in.

 

Or take the smaller broken piece in and just get a couple of joining links, one for spare. Should be less than a tenner.

Thanks for the advice everyone, it's nice to have a bit of info before parting with cash. Asked for a few quotes on a kit to convert to rope, if that's too expensive then there is the option of sourcing the parts ourselves.

If the chain snapped, replacing just a link won't be any good, it will just snap somewhere else. Replace it with a rope and pulley from Shelbourne Reynolds, they are the makers of the new model.
