Sounds like ideal wood for production.

When I go out on jobs with ours we seem to get through 15-18 tons per day. This is with help loading and the help is normally as knackered as me by the end but less than ideal wood. I have one client where they buy in one lorry load (think it's 27 ton) of ideal softwood much like you describe. This takes me a full two days to do on my own but no mechanical help available on that site. Does the machine for hire have the log lifter? If on your own this can be a great asset. Here is a video from that job.

Hi wood how long are logs in video mate they look long what the max size yours will split thanks Jon

Be interesting to see what Billy thinks. The numbers I gave further up the page where based on the customers estimates of how much we had got through but never had an exactly known weight of wood.

Those were big logs Jon for a biomass boiler. Think they were 45cm long but the machine can do upto 60cm

With nice wood Jon should be able to knock out 15 ton maybe more. Can't say I would want to do consecutive days like that though as its bliming hard work.

Maybe less. see below

I process regularly for a customer that has 25 ton dropped with a weigh ticket, so we know exactly what's there. Usually takes us about 2 days to process it into 8-10 logs, only varying factor is the diameter of the timber supplied as sometimes we have a bit to ring up.
