Tipping Trailer advice

Just about to buy a tipping trailer as i'm sick of busting my balls to empty my non tipper every day! Looking at the Brian James Cargo Tipper 10'2" x 5'5" but not sure what Gross kg to go for?? The 2600kg is £600 quid cheaper than the 3500kg but not sure whether to save money or go for the bigger capacity.

 

I've been managing for the last year with a 1000kg 8X6 (non tipper) which has been great but the aim is to cut down on the amount of tip runs and also the speed of the drops. I haven't got a clue how often I am over capacity at the moment but I would suspect once a week at least! I also plan to do logs and mulch next year so weight will be more of a factor but i don't know how much so?

 

Any thoughts and advice much appreciated.

Look at the kerb weights first. Someone was telling me the other day that the 3.5 t one was a lot heavier for not much more payload! So have. Look into it

What vehicle are you towing it with. Not all pick ups and few model vans can tow 3.5t

Is that a 3.5t or smaller and is it a 10x5?

Yes 3.5 tonne 10x5 it's about 10ft 4" x 5ft 2"

It carries and tips whatever you put on it, I have banked it up with topsoil and rubble with no problems.

ours does as well that's with mesh sides and the ramps on board

we have only one vehicle that can legally tow it and that's only within 50KM

Personally I would go for the 3.5 tonne, They are also fairly low so great for putting diggers, Ride ons etc, I use mine for everything.
