Stihl do a nice kit in a roll as well. File holder is better than oregon IMO.

Please excuse my complete ignorance, but can a Stihl sharpening kit be used with a non Stihl chain or a non Stihl saw?

I haven't yet decided for sure what saw to go for, and would like to avoid a stihl vs husky vs echo debate. How tied in are the accessories like sharpening tools to the make of the saw? Thats a point, do all fuel can spouts fit all makes of saw?

Yes, the brand really doesn't matter (although it's worth noting that Stihl do a different size 3/8 file).

No, not all spouts fit, certain Stihl oil spouts will not fit the husky 50cc pro range, but all other spouts can cross-fit.

Don't bother with a stump vice, they're God damn awful, and pop out the stump as soon as you look at them, although if you knock them in deep enough that they don't, you'll spend 20mins belting it with something to free the vice.

Wedges, you need wedges! Stihl high lifts are best, unless you operate a mill.

Finally, with your name, I assume you're a woman, so, husky 346xp or 550xp, or a 353 or 545. Don't bother with the other brands, they're chunky, clunky, and in the case of new Stihl, absolute shite!

Unless somebody can suggest a lighter (semi)pro saw?
