i use the distel and micro pulley, works a treat (much better than the crap rope grabs at college). you can use it one handed and release under load.

 

I agree Alex, rope grabs are fine for lateral force holding you in place but not good in the vertical.Which is one reason i wanted to change my set-up.

 

mmm still not sure how that distal works..i need the idiots guide:001_smile:

if the distel knot is tied properly and neatly is doesn't get in the way, not that i've found anyway... (only coz i don't want to pay 60quid for a positioner haha)

you can also do this with the art positioner , the advantage with the atr positioner is that there is no not to get in the way , i use my strop from the attachment points for the sliding d on my skylotec i find it is alot more comfortable

 

I did try this this afternoon too, placing the strop on the central D ring..good for ascent but it did get a bit mixed up with my life line and looks crowded.

double fishermans yes... since i took these pics i've shortened the cord so the two trailing legs aren't as long and the fishermans meet the distel (less sitback and easier to maintain)
