Land line number - Mobile number!

Increasingly with all the different numbers, freephone, Skype, mobile etc I think people are less concerned with landlines.

5 years ago things were different.

You'd think that but I just don't seem to be able to wean people off the landline number.

I'm just worried I might be losing alot if work as every advert/website has just my mobile number on!

Sorry if I'm being thick here, but surely there's no problem then.

My issue is that in my case every search brings up a landline number so if I'm not at it I loose business, therefore the need to divert.

My problem is I don't have a landline at all! So a lot of potential customers will not be bother with me as they prefer someone with a landline, so I'm after a local landline number that just goes directly to my mobile! Therefore the customers think they are ringing an actual landline!

Trouble with diverting is your not always able to answer it anyway, last thing you want is to be on the phone all day while at work.

Divert my landline to a cheap £10 nokia, battery lasts 10 days and my partner has it on her as she works from home, takes it to the shops/school run etc. Result is professional sounding person picking up and no machinery noise in the background. Once she has the details in a note taking app on her smartphone, this data gets synced to my phone, and I can call them back when I get a chance.

Found I got about 15% more leads doing it this way as EVERY call needs to be answered first time or they will just pick the next company on the page.

Here you go OP, problem solved. I was in your boots four years ago and have used these guys since with no problems:

Business Telecoms - Chess Telecoms

They'll do you a professional voicemail recording too and email you voicemails customers leave if you can't answer your phone.

I now have a landline at the yard and prefer that as it always has 'signal'... :001_rolleyes:

I think it is always best to show you landline number. To quote Tubbs & Edward from the League of Gentlemen " Are you local?"

Too many flyers I see from the "professional" garden clearance brigage who live in a house with wheels advertise with 0800 numbers or mobiles.

Consumer affairs media are highlighting this and people are getting more savvy to spotting rogue trader and a landline with a geographical number shows you are less likely to be a cowboy.
