Hi

I've just purchased an rg13 And need to replace the bearings on the cutter head. Does anyone know what bearings they are? I don't want to buy from the dealer ideally as I have a bearing traders 3 miles from my house?

The old bearings were removed by the previously owner so I can even take them to match up!!

Also does anyone know what belts they have as I'm going to change this whilst I'm at it

Regards

Adam

They are a standard bearing available from a bearing supplier, I know this as when I had a rg13 I changed mine and got them at auto parts store. I don't know the number though sorry. You could take one off and take it along to show them.

The price I got from westcom equipment the main importers was no different than what my local bairing place charged, just a bit for postage. Might be worth changing the pully at the head end as if this is worn it'll continue to eat belts, think it was less than 50quid when I did mine.

I have replaced my bearings with off the shelf 'pillow block' bearings - like everyone says - take one to a supplier. The key measurements are shaft diameter, spacing of the mountong holes and the offset of the bearing face to the mounting holes.

You also need to make sure the block will fit in the space on the grinder.

As for the belt - I have been running two separate belts (cant remember the length) but any motor factor (don't waste your time at Halfords - if you aint got reg no they can't help) - The length may even be printed on the belt and IIRC they are 13mm standard V profile, others on here can probably correct me if necessary.

Good luck
