I wondered about this ^^^. Surely it would be one paid click per IP address? I dont know.

Id say 70% of new leads come from Google adwords for me.

I thought that with the IP address! It's just something I'm looking into as want to increase my work load and never had much success with local mags etc so I thought I would push the internet side of advertising!!

Its pay per click, not per IP address - you have to hope that people (competitors?) don't spam-click! :)

It's a really good system and well worth looking into, just pick the keywords customers find your site (and competitor sites) with. Set a low daily budget to start with and see how it goes/which keywords work best, then you can tailor it over time to what will bring the most business - or change seasonally etc etc.

Google not unaware of this problem

I had a supplier in leeds, when I dropped them they had whole office clicking on my ads all day - so I altered google ads not to show in Leeds

In truth could probably be sorted through adwords but that was fastest solution for me

IP address wouldn't work as some networks change IP address everytime you log on ......

What you selling?

If it's a local service make sure you only advertise locally.....

Will keep costs down

If you ask a question in your advert you'll get a better clickthrough rate

Google check for fraud clicks using several methods, not just IP address, if several clicks are done from the same IP within a short space of time it will count as one click, after a few hours it will count as two.

I think their fraud detection has got better over the last few years.

Do your homework on detecting fraudulent clicks yourself before using adwords would be my advice.

Click fraud can be very costly.

How do you check fraudulent clicks though?
