Not if they use it to tip the table in their favour

 

I don't understand what you mean by this? How can a tree officer tip the table in his favour? His job is to protect trees for the wider benefits of everybody.

.

 

They tip the balance in their favour by not putting the information on line and by encouraging people to ask if the tree is protected. This gives them an opportunity to look at the tree and decide if they want to make an order. Its a back door way of making the entire area into a conservation area

Oh I see what you mean.

But Do you think this is meant or is it just a case of that certain LA's are behind the times and don't have the available resorces to update the system?.

 

I used the Caulderdale council website the other day and it is a far more efficient way of finding information out, especially as council staff are becoming less and less and its harder to obtain the required info.

Your second statement proves the first. If an authority is short on resources having the stuff on line will save enquiries and protect resources.

 

Clearly some are just behind the times but there will always be those who try to keep things in thier favour
