"Little grasshopper", hows about you suggesting that you split the price of the courses in some way, 50:50 or 40:60 or something. I appreciate that you feel he should perhaps floor the costs because it means you do more for him in the long run, but suggesting you go halves would at least make him realise how much you want to do it.

If you get another offer or 2 of work elsewhere, you could even use that as added pressure (if of course, you dont take up on the offers)

I'm also only 24, but started climbing at 17/18, so i was fortunate to get an early start. And I had similar issues with my first boss, so make it clear how much you want to get moving. Even if a wee bit does have to come out your pocket.

Just an idea

Flipn'ek, you are keen! :confused1::biggrin:

Then have a good chat to your boss, and take a few CV's to apf with you. If you dont run, you dont win! :thumbup:

Seriously though, if you fancy the jump, there is almost always work about here. And language isnt always an issue :thumbup1:

bit naf to resent the lad for wanting to learn and just cos his goals are to be self employed

Well said mate. I can't get my head round that attitude even though it does seem to be a common theme.

My advice is to get out quick, work for different people, be prepared to travel a bit and you will be fine. I've been in that boat, don't waste any more time.
