There is also the question of my liability. Knowing there is a risk of tree failure, can I be held liable if I don't inform the house owner?

Called in by the lady buying the house next door. There are three semi-mature Sycamores in her back garden that have all had their roots infringed as well. Fortunately for her a failure puts them through the back fence and not her new house.

We called the council after seeing the trees in the previous pictures.

Would be interesting to get an update on the trees from the first post in this thread, JimM?

 

 

 

In the meantime, this oak has been the subject of a fine new mulching technique from the wall builders

Ridiculous! That Heras fencing should be braced against accidental impacts that might damage the tree.
